Our Values

As a company we aim to add social as well as creative and economic value.
We are currently part of a mentoring scheme in Hackney, helping young people get into the film industry, we have done training programmes in Africa to develop skills for local people. We are members of the industry environmental organisation the Albert Trust and have been awarded local authority Green Small Business of the Year. We funded the creation of an all-ages women’s football team ‘AFC Leyton’.
Our Journey
We are independent minded and focused on constantly improving our work more than on growing.

Our approach is personal and engaged and the name Silverfish was inspired by Godfather director Francis Ford Coppola, who created a mobile production van called 'Silverfish' that could handle every aspect of filmmaking (preproduction, production, and postproduction) all in house.

Our creative lead, Mark Lucas, has worked with the BBC and Channel 4 before founding our company. He’s won Gold at the New York Film Festival and Creative Circle, and helped us snag the Green SME of the Year award in our borough. Passionate about the environment, Mark drives our eco-standards through our “Albert Trust” membership. Beyond filmmaking, he mentors young talent to boost diversity in the industry and regularly contributes to Times Radio.
Nicole Georgiou, a producer and director, she has created over 20 films across Africa on topics like recycling, HIV, TB, and social justice. Her recent work includes a poignant film about young people with Down syndrome. Her films have aired on the BBC and various film festivals.
Joe Sofocleous, is our production assistant who has worked as a runner on Channel Dave’s Question Team. Recently, he contributed to a 15-film series for the Suffolk community, covering local figures and promotional films for GMB, one of the UK’s largest unions.
